The focus of my legal practice is exclusively family law. As a result of my experience with litigation of family related matters and disputes, I have become extremely sensitive and concerned with preservation of the inter-family relationships both in "intact" families and those that have been divided. Accordingly, I have developed a deep commitment to provide clients with an alternative to the hostile and impersonal environment which often accompanies the adversarial process.
I have extensive trial experience in the family law arena, and I am extremely comfortable in Court and with the legal process. I have the utmost respect for the judiciary in Pima County and have worked extremely hard at creating a "comfortable" and professional report with the Judges, Commissioners and their staff.
The two main areas that my practice is focused are Mediation and Collaborative Law. In a Mediation session, I meet with both parties and serve as a neutral facilitator in the resolution process. In Collaborative Law, the parties and their attorneys and other professionals engage as a team committed to resolve the dispute outside of the court system in the most non-abrasive, supportive fashion. In both Collaborative and Mediated dispute resolution, the object is to provide a forum by which the parties can creatively solve their issues in a manner that maintains and supports the relationships between the parties and, more importantly, parent child relationships.
Each case is individual, and no one technique is perfect for every case. When I am involved in a case, my client has many different alternatives and methods available to them to solve their immediate problems. I approach each case individually and thoughtfully, always with my client's best interest at hand.
